Dollar Cost Averaging Settings

Wick Hunter supports multiple ways to configure DCA orders β€” giving you the flexibility.

Updated over a week ago

Scaled Mode

Automatically spaces out DCA orders by applying consistent scaling rules.

Field

Description

Size Type

Define DCA order size as a fixed Dollar amount or Percent of balance.

Size

The starting size for the first DCA order.

Deviation

Distance (%) from the previous order to the next one.

Number of Orders

Total number of DCA orders to place.

Maximum Active Orders

Limits the number of DCA orders that can be active at the same time. This allow you to use less margin until DCA orders are filled.

Volume Scale

Increases size of each next DCA order exponentially (e.g. 1x, 1.5x, 2x...). For example, if you use "2" than your next DCA will be twice the size as the prior one.

Step Scale

Increases spacing between each DCA order progressively. For example, if you first DCA is placed 5% from the entry price and you used 1.5, then your second DCA would be placed 7.5% from your first DCA.

Use Case: Best for consistent grid-style scaling and simple pyramiding.

2. Custom Mode

Manually define each DCA order with exact size and distance.

Field

Description

Size Type

Choose between Dollar or Percent-based sizing.

Maximum Active Orders

Limits the number of DCA orders that can be active at the same time. This allow you to use less margin until DCA orders are filled.

Size

The size of the specific DCA order.

Distance

How far (in %) from the entry price to place the DCA order.

Add Additional

Add multiple DCA layers with full control over each.

Use Case: Ideal for advanced traders who want full precision and control.

3. Scaled ATR Mode

Volatility-based scaling using the ATR (Average True Range) indicator.

Field

Size Type

Define size as Dollar or Percent.

Size

Starting DCA order size.

ATR Timeframe

Choose the candle interval for ATR (e.g. 15m, 1h).

ATR Length

How many candles to average for ATR.

Deviation

Multiplier applied to ATR to space orders.

Number of Orders

Number of DCA levels to generate.

Maximum Active Orders

Limits the number of DCA orders that can be active at the same time. This allow you to use less margin until DCA orders are filled.

Volume Scale / Step Scale

Adjust DCA order sizing or spacing progressively.

Use Case: Dynamically adjusts DCA spacing based on market volatility.

4. Custom ATR Mode

Combine ATR logic with full customization over each order.
